Come and have a great volunteer experience with QueerScreen at the Mardi Gras Film Festival 2012 and beyond

 

Queer Screen’s Mardi Gras Film Festival 2012 is fast approaching and we need the help of our fabulous volunteer community!

The Festival officially launches on January 18^th and it will run from February 16^th to March 1^st at three venues: Entertainment Quarters (Moore Park), Dendy Newtown and Riverside Theatres (Parramatta).

We are looking for enthusiastic people with a few hours to spare to help out during the event in February and also in the lead-up. This year, we’re opening up the volunteering opportunities so you can get really involved in the festival – with roles in distribution, entertainment, fundraising, marketing and of course ushering. So if you’ve got a New Year’s resolution to be more active, now’s the time to get on board.

 

So who are we looking for?

• Festival volunteers – During the festival, usher cinema goers, set up venues, answer questions, provide information and help to manage the front of house (don’t worry, you won’t be on your own!)
• Festival entertainers – This year, we’re looking for special people who can really glam up a venue and get the crowds excited. Most of the screenings will be at Cinema Paris and we really want to make it the ultimate ‘festival village’. Have you got what it takes?
• Distribution volunteers – Help get the word out by distributing guides and posters in the local community, both in the lead up to the event and during the festival.
• Fundraising and advertising – Know a venue, organisation or business that could provide advertising space or funding for Queer Screen?
• Office support – Think you can lend a hand in the office as we organise all the logistics? We’d love to hear from people with a few hours to spare during the week.
