We queers often have such a special relationship to the animals in our lives, and it seems no modern queer family is complete without a suitably queer pet.
In 2010, Queer Screen and the Livingstone Rd Animal Health Centre launched Queer Pet Project a new filmmaking competition that invited you to make a film about your pet. Whether you're were a seasoned professional, an amateur cinematographer or a first time filmmaker; whether using a camera, an iPhone or a slide show of photographs... we wanted you to share a story about the non-human that you love.
First time out and Queer Pet Project received an amazing response from filmmakers all around Australia who embraced the chance to make a film about their furry (or in some cases not so furry) friends.
With amazing entries along with an amazing audience, Queer Pet Project was a resounding success and is back again in 2011!
Queer Screen would like to thank the queer friendly vets at Livingstone Rd Animal Health Centre, who sponsor this fantastic initiative!
