Donations to Queer Screen help us build our events without needing to rely on additional government funding.

In recent years your support has allowed us to really invest in our Australian queer filmmakers and producers and bring their work to more remote communities around the country.  

Most improtantly, your donation helps keep us viable, so queers on screen remain visible!

Tax benefit

Queer Screen has Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status so all donations over $2 are tax deductible.

Individual benefit

Your donation goes to a queer organisation dedicated to representing and strengthening the GLBT community through the presentation of diverse and compelling works for screen. You are helping to make space for the expression of our community's stories.

Some of the projects that your donation will support are:

• My Queer Career Touring and Distribution
• Free membership for under 26s
• Touring programs of our festivals, so regional audiences also have access to Queer Cinema
• The Mardi Gras Film Festival
• queerDOC
• Keeping this organisation strong, viable and creative all year round.

Why do we need your financial support?

Tickets sales cover 60% of Queer Screen's operating costs, while Government Funding brings in only 8% of our annual revenue. This means we are tremendously reliant on successful events, sponsorship, and membership fees to survive.

Your donation can help us move away from just commercial activities to projects that support development, experimentation and outreach. Your donation provides the possibility for Queer Screen to be an even more creative, stimulating and exciting arts organisation. Our My Queer Career initiatives, providing opportunities and exposure for Australian Queer Filmmakers, are entirely funded by Queer Screen. You can turn your tax dollars into an investment in our local talent, and help us fund this unique and important program.
