Dendy Newtown, subtitled

Nana Neul, Germany, 2008, 93 min

Girl who likes boys falls for a boy who is really a girl, which isn’t hard when the already boyish girl pretends to be a boy to win the heart of the girl. Got it? When Mel is involved in a car accident with Jenny, it is crush at first crash. Mel begins to question her own sexuality even further when she discovers that Jenny indeed prefers to hang out with boys, hence thrusting herself into a rigorous routine in body and attitude to become Miguel, the Latino hunk whose charms Jenny can’t resist. And needless to say, she can’t... But is it Miguel or Mel she is falling for? This charming and playful dramedy explores the bewilderment and excitement of young love, coming out and gender identity.
