CHEF’S SPECIAL is a delicious Spanish farce about a headstrong chef, his troubled children, his lovelorn maitre de and his hunky secret lover.

Maxi (Javier Cámara) is an openly gay celebrated chef and proud owner of Xantarella, an haute-cuisine restaurant in the trendy Madrid neighbourhood of Chueca. Intent on earning his restaurant a much-revered Michelin star, he runs his successful kitchen of foul-mouthed and unlucky-in-love staff with panic-stricken fervor.
Maxi's regimented world is turned upside down when his estranged former wife dies and he must take custody of their two children, a recalcitrant teenage son and a precocious younger daughter.    The situation is further complicated when a hot and closeted Argentinian footballer (Benjamin Vicuna) moves in next door and takes a fancy to Maxi.
This laugh-a-minute comedy recently opened the Spanish Film Festival nationally and has taken audience awards worldwide.
